Hand Painted Antique Cabinet Doors - Original Black Cat Oil Painting by Diane Irvine Armitage

I am working on furniture for my booth at The Old Barn Antique Mall and today's project is an antique dresser that has two cabinet doors at the bottom.  I am ebonizing the dresser so it will be black and doing two original oil paintings for the cabinet doors of black cats.  Very loose and suggestive - more like a dream or a memory.
This is the left side ...

And here is the right side ...
I will be setting my antique zinc and glass curved top cabinet on top of this dresser.  It is a glass table-top cabinet and I have lots of fun oddities to put inside : - )

Hand Painted Tiger Oak Cabinet with Black Cat by Diane Irvine Armitage

Today's project was a hand-painted panel on a turn-of-the-century tiger oak music cabinet.  This is a really pretty cabinet made up entirely of tiger oak.  I gessoed the front panel four times and then painted black kitty Tish in oils.  The warm ochres and the greys make for a nice background for the black.  Today's blacks weren't straight from the tube, but a mix of Phthalo Blue, Alizarin Crimson and Burnt Sienna.
And the artist's muse looking in the studio window from the catio.
What a goofball!
